It's been raining in Tokyo all day today, I decided to stay inside and make some food.

Roasted garlic with sesame oil and soy sauce

Cabbage salad with combu, sesame seeds and ponzu

Natto with homemade kimchee

Miso ramen with an assortment of vegetables


For those of you that like kimchee, hit me up because I think we can be friends. I've got an obsession going and the only way I've been able to stay sated lately is by making it myself to ensure the fridge is always stocked. My batches just keep getting better and better. Here's a pretty good recipe (see photo below) that can be used as a guideline, don't hesitate to tweak it though. For the base I really like combining any store bought kimchi base and Thai red curry paste. My advice is to not worry so much about following the directions, just taste as you go along and use your gut instinct.
